Planning a TripGetting There Trains from London's Paddington Station depart every hour during the day. The trip takes 2 1/2 hours. For rail information, call tel. 0845/7000125 or visit www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk. Trains also run every 20 minutes during the day between Exeter and Plymouth; the trip takes 1 hour. Trains often arrive at Exeter St. David's Station at St. David's Hill. A National Express coach departs from London's Victoria Coach Station every 2 hours during the day; the trip takes 4 1/2 hours. You can also take Stagecoach bus no. X38 or 39 between Plymouth and Exeter. During the day, two coaches depart per hour for the 1-hour trip. Visitor Information The Tourist Information Centre is at the Civic Centre, Paris Street (tel. 01392/665700). It's open from September to June Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm, and in July and August Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. Special Events A classical-music lover's dream, the Exeter Festival, usually held the first 2 weeks in July, includes more than 150 events, ranging from concerts and opera to lectures.
