Frommer's Review
Since 2003, this has been a welcome alternative in Fes for those looking for something other than Moroccan cuisine. Although conveniently positioned on busy avenue Hassan II, double-glazed doors and air-conditioning keep the noise outside. The interior is modern and intimate in the nonsmoking front dining room, while a larger room in the rear can get quite smoky and is more of a meeting place for locals who wish to eat -- and drink -- away from prying eyes. The varied menu includes a good selection of cold and hot starters including Andalusian minestrone soup and a large cheese platter, while entrees range from pastas and thin-crust pizzas to grilled meats including brochettes de dinde (turkey pieces on skewers) and grilled Saint-Pierre (John Dory). There's also a three-course Moroccan set menu and a very good selection of local wines available. Friendly waiters -- some English speaking -- and monogrammed crockery add a touch of class. A separate entrance leads up to a very smoky local bar upstairs.
