Frommer's Review
This restored 16th-century riad is in a quiet residential corner of the medina and is one of the most peaceful you'll come across. Riad Ghita is Moroccan owned and managed, and this local influence is visibly apparent in its furnishings -- lots of traditional antique-style furniture and plush gold and burgundy lounges -- and its interior architecture of zellij and stucco walls and carved-cedar wood doors and ceilings. There's also plenty of blue and pink, which can seem garish at first, but only adds to the local flavor. Rooms and suites of varying sizes come with lounges or separate seating areas with coffee tables, and the bathrooms are a mix of traditional and modern. Guests divide their time between a spacious and light courtyard with a retractable sun roof and comfortable lounges that are perfect for an afternoon mint tea, and the split-level rooftop terrace that catches the breeze and affords a great view across the medina. An in-house restaurant serves up fine Moroccan cuisine (also popular with nonguests), and the friendly and discreet staff are always on hand.
