Frommer's Review
This seaside resort is nestled on a tranquil 85-acre peninsula overlooking San Carlos Bay and Sanibel Island (a resort shuttle provides guests complimentary transportation daily to the island's beaches and to a bike-rental shop). The resort's 400 units are in the hotel tower, the concierge-style Grande Bay at Sanibel Harbour, and two condominium towers, all modern and luxurious. All have balconies with water and island views. Five outdoor pools and a bayside beach offer relaxing sunning areas. The spa features over 60 treatments, including the incredible and almost indescribable BETAR bed, one of only 16 such systems in the world, in which the body is bathed in sound waves to create a state of total relaxation. There's also a world-class fitness center, five clay tennis courts, and an assortment of classes and clinics daily. The resort is a fabulous vacation destination for families. The award-winning Kids Klub offers fun-filled, educational adventures for children 5 to 12.
Facilities: 6 restaurants and lounges; 5 heated outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool; 5 clay tennis courts; health club; spa; watersports equipment rentals; concierge; children's programs; activities desk; business center; room service; laundry service; dry cleaning.
In room: A/C, TV, high-speed Internet access, kitchen (in condos), minibar (in hotel tower rooms), minifridge (in Grande Bay building), coffeemaker, hair dryer, iron, safe.

| 0 stars | Frommer's Recommended | |
| 1 stars | Frommer's Highly Recommended | |
| 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
