Park Hotel ReviewAn atmospheric choice with a certain charm, this hotel was built in 1880 in a combination Old French and Old English style. Many of the handsomely furnished midsize rooms have marble bathrooms. Only the suites have tubs in the bathrooms; the doubles contain showers. The Park is known for its gourmet restaurant, Gastronomen, which serves an international cuisine. The hotel doesn't just wait until dinner to feed you well; we found its breakfast buffet the most bountiful in town. In fair weather (not guaranteed in Denmark), breakfast -- or even dinner on a warm summer night -- can be served in a courtyard. On our last visit, we could imagine we were in the south of France. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
