Planning a Trip

Getting There

From the main station at St-Raphaël, several trains a day arrive at a small train station in Fréjus on rue Martin-Bidoure. Call tel. 36-35, or visit www.voyages-sncf.com. The beach is a shorter walk (about 15 min.) from the St-Raphaël station than from the Fréjus station.

Aglobus (tel. 04-94-95-16-71), which functions in cooperation with Estérel Bus (tel. 04-94-53-78-46), operates routes throughout Provence and the Riviera, including a bus service into Fréjus from St-Raphaël every 30 minutes. Buses arrive at the Fréjus Gare Routière, place Paul-Vernet (tel. 04-94-83-87-63), at the east end of the town center. One-way tickets cost 3.25€. Sodetrav buses (tel. 04-94-95-24-82) en route to St-Tropez from St-Raphaël stop along the coast in Fréjus.

To reach Fréjus from St-Raphaël, take the N98 west to the intersection with D7, at which point you cut north for a short distance.

Getting Around

Rent mopeds at Action 2 Roues, 18 av. Des Portes-du-Soleil (tel. 04-94-44-48-34). Prices range from 25€ to 40€ depending on the model, and credit card deposits are required. Cycles Patrick Beraud, 337 rue de Triberg (tel. 04-94-51-20-20; www.cyclesberaud.fr), rents the pedal-powered version of two-wheeled transportation. Expect to pay 12€ to 25€, plus a security deposit.

Special Events

The Fête des Plantes is held annually in the park of the Villa Aurélienne, during a 3-day period in late March and April. For information, call tel. 04-94-51-83-83 or contact the local tourist office.
