Wendy opened this Oakland restaurant in the midst of a recession after waitressing for 27 years. She collected recipes from friends and family and turned a run-down space into a charming cafe. Wendy serves good home-cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a congenial atmosphere. Try Logan's chocolate chip pancakes, or maybe Collin's fried pickles. Sandwiches at lunch, including old-time favorites such as liver and onions and honey-dipped chicken, keep people coming back. Breakfast is served all day.
