About 40km (25 miles) past Grand-Métis, in the village of St-Ulric, you will find the northernmost winery in the Americas. This labor of love is called Vignoble Carpinteri. Wines produced here will not compete anytime soon with the Tuscany wines that inspired the establishment, yet the new, free curiosité is a hit with locals and tourists alike. A former strawberry field located in a sheltered microclimate area has allowed for the growing of wine grapes. There is a picnic area. Free guided tours and tastings take place every day mid-May to mid-October from 10am to 6pm, and Sat-Sun the rest of the year from 10am to 6pm.
