Caleta Hotel

This rather upmarket choice, Gibraltar's largest hotel, is at the end of La Caleta (Catalan Bay) on the eastern side of the Rock. A holiday hotel, it was built on the rocks over the sea with sun terraces and a swimming pool with steps down to the water. Most of the bedrooms have balconies overlooking the water. The bedrooms are attractively and comfortably furnished, each with a tiled bathroom. The hotel enjoys private access to a small, sheltered sandy beach overlooking both the Spanish and North African coastlines. A grace note is the hotel's small and leafy English garden with nice views. Its Italian dining room is one of the best hotel restaurants on the Rock and the English bar here is a cozy retreat for a pint.
