Frommer's Review
Owned and operated by Joe Bossano, one of the former chief ministers of Gibraltar, this informal downtown hotel occupies an old-fashioned 19th-century house on a narrow lane a few steps north of Main Street. Don't expect grandeur, as everything is very English-pubby-style, with a reception desk a few steps from the bar top, a lobby-cum-drinking area where everyone sees and hears everything. The staff, though not technically English Cockney, evokes the style and speech patterns of some of the gang members of Fagin's 19th-century London. Rooms are very simple at this government-rated one-star hotel. The midsize units are light and airy with twin beds.
