Horseback Riding

You can bring your own horses and pack animals into the park, but restrictions apply to private stock. A free brochure detailing regulations regarding horseback riding is available from the Park Service.

Guided horseback riding at East Glacier is provided by Two Medicine River Outfitters (tel. 406/226-9220), located a stone's throw from the front door of the lodge; the company offers hourly and half-day rides into the nearby wilderness. Swan Mountain Outfitters (tel. 800/919-4416; www.swanmountainoutfitters.com/glacier) offers similar rides from corrals at Apgar, Lake McDonald and Many Glacier.
