Surrounded by Forest Service lands, the lodges at this year-round resort are as private as you can get. Each lodge is a "home," done in modern Western decor. Families will find the two-bedroom lodges to their liking, and kids can play outdoors during the day (there are 23 undeveloped acres) and there are diversions like foosball, pool, and video games in the rec center. Hiking trails abound and some even come up on some surprising waterfalls. For a summer stay, reservations should be made before March.
