Visitor Information The friendly and welcoming Eleuthera Tourist Office is on Queens Highway (tel. 242/332-2142) in modern, contemporary-looking premises about 2 blocks uphill from the harbor. It's usually open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Fast Facts If you're staying outside the town in a cottage or apartment, you can find services and supplies in Governor's Harbour or at nearby Palmetto Point. Governor's Harbour has a branch of First Caribbean International Bank on Queen's Highway (tel. 242/332-2300) with an ATM dispensing Bahamian (but not U.S.) dollars. Hours are Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 3pm and Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm. The Governor Harbour's Medical Clinic (tel. 242/332-2774) is the island's largest and most comprehensive healthcare facility. Located on Queen's Highway, it's open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5:30pm and fills prescriptions. The clinic is also the site of a dentist's office which operates from 9am to 1pm Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Call for an appointment before going. Check with your hotel for Internet access, which can also be gotten on the second floor of the Haynes Library (tel. 242/332-2877) at Governor's Harbour. The charge is US$5(£2.50) per hour, and the library is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm. If you need the police, call tel. 242/332-2111. There's a post office on Haynes Avenue (tel. 242/332-2060); hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm.
