This venerable slopeside institution commands the Jackson Hole après-ski scene. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017, the enormous, two-story Mangy Moose is the place to be when your shaking legs can’t handle one more run on the mountain; conveniently, you can ski directly to it. A lively atmosphere awaits, with moose heads and old-school posters on the walls, microbrews on tap, and live music that fires up just as the slopes shut down. The menu favors carnivores, with chops, prime rib, burgers, and steaks; sides like fries and mac and cheese add a comfort-food touch. You can also fuel up here midday on wraps, burgers, and pizza, or swing by the affiliated RMO Café for breakfast.
