Frommer's Review
For the price of a burger, fries, and a soft drink at the Tusayan McDonald's, you can eat a full meal at either Maswik or Yavapai cafeterias. Though the food costs about the same at either place, there are some key differences between the two. Maswik more closely resembles a food court, where meals come complete with side dishes. One Maswik station serves Mexican fare; another has hot sandwich plates; a third offers spaghetti and pastas; and a fourth serves burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches.
At Yavapai, you can mix and match from a variety of stations, picking up a piece of fried chicken from one, a slice of pizza from another, a dish of mashed potatoes from another. (And a case of indigestion, when you put it all together.) For $3.25, you can also assemble your own dinner salad at the salad bar. When dining here, try the chicken potpie.
Compared with Maswik's food, Yavapai's fare tastes less institutional. The fried chicken is particularly tasty. If you're hungry for a burger, however, go to Maswik, where the meat is grilled instead of fried. You can get soft serve ice-cream at either cafeteria.
