This is the most creative and most imaginative gift shop in the Cayman Islands. Located within an unpretentious and low-slung wood-frame house about a mile south of George Town proper, it has reached its present level of fascination under the stewardship of Debbie Chase, a U.S.-born artist. Chase's friendly relations with craftspeople throughout the Cayman Islands has created a treasure trove of gift items that are a lot more interesting than what's available at many nearby competitors. Expect a densely packed environment loaded with paintings, artifacts, books, and clever handcrafted items from the Caymans, Cuba, Jamaica, Key West, and Central America. The common denominator linking all the items is good taste, good humor, and an appreciation for detail-intensive labor. The collection of island-inspired jewelry is particularly comprehensive.
