Ulla Darni at the Blue Pearl, 7751 Rte. 23, East Windham (tel. 518/734-6525), features the fanciful lamps, sconces, and chandeliers of renowned lighting artist Ulla Darni. Her colorful, handcrafted lamps fetch huge prices. A nice traditional gallery is Windham Fine Arts, in a 19th-century house at 5380 Main St., Windham (tel. 518/734-6850; www.windhamfinearts.com); it focuses mostly on regional painters and sculptors. The Windham Mini Mall, 5359 Main St., Windham (tel. 518/734-5050), is a general store with gourmet foods, a tempting candy display, books, jewelry, and camping and fishing supplies. Village Candle, Pottery & Gifts, Main Street, Tannersville (tel. 518/589-6002), has an outstanding collection of scented candles and outdoors goods. The Snowy Owl, Main Street, Tannersville (tel. 518/589-9939), is a cool home-furnishings and gift store with a decidedly mountain look.
