A Cocoon of Creativity

The Butterfly Lodge Museum (tel. 928/735-7514; www.azcama.com/museums/butterflylodge.html), located just off Ariz. 373 between Ariz. 260 and Greer, is a restored historic cabin built in 1914. Built by James Willard Schultz (a writer) and his son Hart Merriam Schultz (a painter), the museum is a memorial to these two unusual and creative individuals who once called Greer home. It's open Memorial Day to Labor Day Thursday through Sunday (and holidays) from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for youths 12 to 17.
