Hotels have high-season rates for Christmas, Easter, and the Festival Cervantino. High season at moderate and inexpensive hotels also includes July and August, when schools are out and families vacation and any holiday weekend. During the Festival Cervantino, in October, rooms are virtually impossible to find without a reservation, and even then it's good to claim your room early in the day. Some visitors have to stay as far away as León or San Miguel de Allende. Rates quoted here include the 17% tax.
