Frommer's Review
This is my favorite restaurant in town. It offers a perfect blend of creative and artful cooking, accompanied by attentive service and a very attractive ambience. The restaurant is also very popular with Guatemala City's upper crust, which is evident from all the oversize SUVs, chauffeurs, and bodyguards lined up out front. Once you run that gauntlet and are inside, there are several different dining rooms, each with its own decor. All feature subdued lighting combined with a minimalist modern aesthetic. White muslin is draped from ceiling beams, and glass doors and screens divide the spaces. The menu is long and eclectic, running the gamut from steak with a chile poblano sauce to moo shu duck. Italy and Asia are the dominant culinary influences, with everything from sushi to risotto, but there are some traditional Continental dishes on the menu as well. However, don't dismiss the specials. On a recent visit, I sampled an appetizer of homemade ravioli stuffed with pear and ricotta cheese, served over a bed of caramelized onions with a red cherry and balsamic vinegar sauce. It was one of the most memorable dishes I've had in my life. Save room for dessert; their molten bomba de chocolate (chocolate bomb) is superb.
