Frommer's Review
City sounds -- and smells -- melt away as you climb up a marble staircase, past two small lotus ponds and a waterfall, to get to the main floor of this restaurant, housed inside an old French buidling. The ambiance is upscale Asian chic, with a bouquet of lotuses on every table, wooden furniture, and original art pieces on the wall by established Vietnamese artists like Vo Van Long. From the kitchen comes gorgeous Vietnamese food with added hints of spices from Thailand. I highly recommend the peanut crusted shrimps with green mango salad and grilled fish tikka in pandanus leaves with tartar and sweet chili. Both are light dishes that carry just the right amount of spunk thanks to the tart green mango, and sweet chili sauce. Tip: The restaurant serves portions that are meant to be shared, so if dining alone, ask about half-portions so you can try more than one dish.
