For a high standard of service and comfort in Hanoi, the Guoman is a real find. This uppity downtown property caters to the business crowd and is popular for semipermanent residents; with such a good location and amenities, it's a great choice for all. From the large central chandelier and toothed filigree of the stylish lobby to the subdued Helmsman lounge's live music and low-slung couches, the laid-back boutique feel here is much finer than the low price tag. Rooms are big, carpeted, and nicely furnished, if a bit bland, but they still have that brand-new feel. There is a good fitness center, and the second-floor restaurant serves a great breakfast and good Western and Asian cuisine (lots of promotional specials). Service is excellent, and the staff can help you with any business or travel need.
