Formerly known as the Tien Thuy, this budget hotel on the eastern fringe of the Old Quarter has recently undergone a thorough make-over and the result is some of the best-value rooms in town at this price. Superior rooms are a bit cramped, but deluxe are only a few dollars more, and the spacious Honeymoon Rooms, with balconies overlooking the street, are great value at $55. It's located just outside the tourist area of the Old Quarter and so offers a more authentic taste of Hanoi street life than many other hotels.
