Harbour Lounge ReviewThis old clapboard-sided building, dating from the early 1800s, is the first place you're likely to see as you step off the ferryboat arriving from Eleuthera. Today, it's one of the island's most satisfying and authentic restaurants. Sometimes, eating here feels like attending an island dinner party. The menu has at times included at least three different preparations of grouper, fried scallops with a honey-pecan sauce, soft-shell or stone crabs, lobster tail, a variety of conch dishes, and a combination of feta cheese and shrimp marinara. Overall, the Harbour Lounge an unpretentious, charming place, and the veranda provides a front-row seat for all the goings-on of Harbour Island. Some of the artifacts displayed on the walls here were salvaged from the local wreck of a ship called the Vanaheim. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
