Planning a TripGetting There Trains depart from London's Paddington Station but require a change at the junction in Twyford. About 10 buses depart every day from London's Victoria Coach Station for Reading. From Reading, take local bus no. 421 to Henley. These buses depart every hour. Call 0870/580-8080 for more information, or visit www.nationalexpress.com. If you're driving from London, take the M4 toward Reading to Junction 819, and then head northwest on the A4130. Visitor Information The Tourist Information Centre is at King's Arms Barn, Kings Road (tel. 01491/578034; www.visithenley-on-thames.co.uk). Winter hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. Summer hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. An entire book could be written about these government-funded national trails -- and indeed one has. It's the National Trail Guide (Aurum Press), by David Sharp, and it details every twist and turn of the river.
