With a bevy of televisions, 12 beers on tap, and Friday night jam sessions featuring bands like Taco Donkey and La Bodega, The Smokehouse is the busiest barbecue place in Hilton Head. The interior is contemporary, with stone walls behind the bar, and wood floors, ceilings, and tables. Items out of the smoker are worth a try, with standouts like chicken and ribs and a pork barbecue plate. Appetizers are worthy as well, including grilled shrimp and an onion loaf, which is a mix of thinly sliced sweet onions served with a dipping sauce that's quite tangy. The Smokehouse has one of the better Sunday brunches on the island, complete with filet Benedict, a take on the classic poached eggs with beef tenderloin medallions and sautéed mushrooms.
