Frommer's Review
Set near the relatively isolated northern end of Hilton Head Island on 24 landscaped acres, this hotel stands out as the most child- and pet-friendly blockbuster hotel on the island. Its Disney-esque design, including cupolas and postmodern ornamentation that looks vaguely Moorish, evokes fanciful Palm Beach hotels. If there's a drawback, it's the fact that its so obviously geared to families with children that romantically inclined couples without children in tow might not necessarily thrill to the family-friendly sweep of it all. Fortunately, there's an active and much-respected children's camp on-site for the care and attention of young'uns. Most of the guest rooms have ocean views, and are outfitted in modernized interpretations of the Low Country plantation style. The hotel is also home to the new Heavenly Spa by Westin, a full-service spa.
Facilities:
3 restaurants; bar; 3 pools; 3 18-hole golf courses; 16 tennis courts; full-service health spa; Jacuzzi; room service; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
