Frommer's Review
If you don't care about fancy amenities and want to be downtown, look no further than the Spring, with nicer rooms than many hotels twice its price. Accommodations here are neat and clean, with comfy double and superking beds, and nice, solid dark-wood or light rattan furniture. The bathrooms are on the small side -- I bumped my hip on the doorknob several times because of the narrow space between the door jamb and the bathtub. The floral motif isn't bad, and the carpeted floors are impeccably clean. Go as high up as you can to escape street noise, which is the hotel's one failing (though the elevator's kind of slow, too). Modems are located on every floor so in-room Wi-Fi internet access is super fast. Lowest-priced "economy" rooms have no windows. Standard rooms on the eighth floor have good views, but the bathrooms are small, have no bathtub, and only a curtain separates the toilet from the shower area. Suites are large, with couches in large, separate sitting rooms. The Spring has an unsettling Greco-Roman motif, with statues and filigreed molding here and there. If the lobby's hanging ivy, colonnades, and grand staircase seem a bit over-the-top, at least the rooms are a bit more toned down, utilitarian, and pleasant. A short walk from Dong Khoi and the central business district, this is a popular choice for long-term business travelers. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful.
