Frommer's Review
The folks at Vinh Hung have followed a Chinese-style of entrepreneurship with the model "Start small; go big." Their small in-town properties have been popular, and they've turned the income from them into this latest project: a self-contained, midlevel resort on Hoi An Island that is just getting up and running. The area, slated for further development in coming years, is just a 10- or 15-minute walk from the canal bridge at Hoi An center. Deluxe rooms are the best -- large and tidy, with wooden floors, Chinese tapestries, and carpeted sitting areas. High-end rooms are enormous, some with Jacuzzis. Rooms encircle a central pool area and, though resort services are limited and everything is a bit compact, Vinh Hung Resort is an affordable and convenient getaway. Some rooms overlook the wide river -- a good choice. They have kayaks for rent, a unique commute to the town center, and cover all basic amenities.
