Planning a TripGetting There -- Hood River is on I-84 at the junction with Ore. 35, which leads south to connect with U.S. 26 near the community of Government Camp. Amtrak offers rail service to the town of Bingen, Washington, just across the Columbia River from Hood River. The station is at the foot of Walnut Street. Festivals -- The Hood River Valley Blossom Festival is held in mid-April and celebrates the flowering of the valley's pear and apple trees.
