Frommer's Review
This former flour mill, in operation from 1720 to 1928, has been transformed into one of the island's most romantic restaurants. Rubble-stone walls and hand-wrought beams form the interior, with candlelight glinting off hanging copper and brass pots. On a warm day, sit on the shaded terrace beside the waterfall tumbling down a small hill, and be sure to wander upstairs to see the Québécois antiques. Lunch can be light -- maybe an omelet or a plate of assorted pâtés or cheeses -- and the ice cider made on the island is a refreshing alternative to wine. There's music on Sunday nights in the summer. Main courses at dinner range from C$16 to C$26 (US$14?US$23/£6.90?£11), and reservations are recommended. The restaurant is closed from November to April, but the owners rent nine cottage chalets at the shore year-round. Each has a fully equipped kitchen and some have a fireplace and washing machine, particularly appealing for bikers. Pets are allowed in most units.
Facilities:
Restaurant (contemporary French); terrace next to waterfall; small outdoor heated pool in summer
