Frommer's Review
Set within an ocher-fronted antique building overlooking the Inn River, this is one of the new breed of upbeat and internationally conscious restaurants that appeals to hipsters with Berlin, Vienna, London, or Toronto on their minds. It contains a restaurant and two separate bars, the busier and more animated of which is positioned one floor above street level and offers viable nightlife options of its own. (Many of its clients come here with no intention of dining, making a beeline for the widely varied list of cocktails and whiskeys.) There's no cover charge, even in the evening after 8pm, when a resident DJ spins danceable tunes. Throughout, the russet-and-cream-colored decor has enough woodsy touches to appeal to traditionalists, and enough stark angularity and modernity to appeal to dyed-in-the-wool modernists. Menu items range from traditional Austrian-style comfort food (Wiener schnitzels, rump steaks with brown gravy, and mixed grills) to Asian (ramen noodles with braised pork and ginger), as well as a roster of about a dozen pizzas plus salads and pastas. The owners, the Cammerlander family, own about a half-dozen other restaurants throughout the Tyrol.
