Frommer's Review

This is one of four Best Western hotels in Innsbruck and possibly one of our favorites of the four. It occupies a pink-fronted antique building that was originally erected in 1473 and that later functioned as a relay station for the Austrian (then horse-drawn) postal service. The antique integrity of its exterior has been carefully preserved, complete with its bay windows and solid proportions. Inside, however, it has been thoroughly modernized, with sturdy furniture and decor, and bedrooms that correspond to a modern international aesthetic of smooth lines, wood-grained furniture, and standardized comforts. Each of the rooms has a tub/shower combination and toilets set within small rooms that are otherwise separate from the bathrooms. Most have views of the river Inn or of Innsbruck's Old Town, whose northern edge lies within about 180m (591 ft.) of the hotel.
