Frommer's Review
Now into a family management that has stretched over five generations, this is one of the best and more affordable hotels of Innsbruck, lying a short walk west of the Hauptbahnhof. A trio of antique buildings were joined together to form this welcoming hotel. Even though it's in the city, you feel like you're in an alpine retreat because of the use of woodwork on every floor. The public rooms are warm and inviting, often filled with red-tile floors and throw rugs. Guest rooms are small to medium in size and lack the character and taste of the public rooms, but they're well maintained and beautifully kept with mainly built-in pieces. All of them come with tiny modular bathrooms -- half with tubs, the others with showers. The best views, as would be expected, are on the upper floors. In a series of rustically decorated restaurants, Tyrolean specialties are served, and the intimate and wood-paneled bar is a retreat after you return from the slopes. In winter, folkloric shows are often presented.
