One of the most pleasant restaurants in town is in a century-old stone-fronted building on a street dotted with shops. Inside, you find varnished paneling, wooden tables, potted plants, and a soothing New Age atmosphere. Dine on generous portions of Angus rump steak with rocket and parmesan salad; penne pasta with fresh tomatoes, spinach, garlic, and chili Buffalo mozzarella; tenderloins of Highland lamb wrapped in Parma ham; or halibut filet with fondant potatoes, ratatouille and crispy leeks. For dessert, try the dark-chocolate tart with white-chocolate shavings or a crepe filled with homemade Maltese ice cream with butterscotch sauce.
