Hotel El Limbo on the Sea

This oceanfront hotel, centrally located and near restaurants, tour operators, and water taxis, is virtually identical to the neighboring Hotel Bocas del Toro . Hotel Limbo has the edge, with brighter rooms, but the service here can run from inattentive to unfriendly. Guest rooms are not luxurious, but they are neat as a pin and attractively decorated in nautical style, with cooling blues and whites, polished wood floors, and wood paneling. This is one of the only hotels in town with a bathtub. The best rooms are the two with balconies that overlook the water; they provide particularly relaxing places to have drinks or order meals in, but if you can't get one, take advantage of the Limbo's good restaurant and bar on the first floor.
