Frommer's Review
I recommend this hotel for its location, accommodating staff, and convenience. Owned and managed by Ancon Expeditions, the hotel operates as a base for the their "Bocas del Toro Adventure," a 2-night, 3-day package including boating to Bocas del Drago, hiking through the tropical forest of Isla Bastimentos National Park, and snorkeling around Hospital Point, but independent travelers can stay a night or two and book excursions a la carte. Bocas Inn is in a Caribbean-style wood building on the waterfront, a short walk from Main Street, and the breeze on this side of town keeps things cool. Rooms are comfortable but very basic -- travelers seeking plusher accommodations might consider another hotel. The two best rooms face the water and have ocean views as well as a private veranda with hammocks. Fronting the hotel is a lovely, well-maintained tropical garden, and there is a waterfront deck. The staff here run a tight ship. In general, Ancon conducts responsible, high-quality tours and can tailor excursions to group interest. Rates include a delicious breakfast and the 10% hotel tax.
