Getting There & Around -- Ferry service to Isla Taboga is provided by Barcos Calypso Queen (tel. 314-1730), which leaves from the Isla Naos pier on the Amador Causeway, next to the Smithsonian's Centro de Exhibiciones. From Panama City to Isla Taboga, the ferry goes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30am and 3:00pm; Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30am only; and Saturday, Sunday, and holidays at 8am, 10:30am, and 4pm. Service from Isla Taboga to Panama City is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30am and 4:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30pm; and Saturday, Sunday, and holidays at 9am, 3pm, and 5pm. The cost is $11 (£5.50) adults, $7 (£3.50) children 12 and under, and $7 (£3.50) seniors. Arrive at the pier 1 hour before departure. There is a cafe at the dock.
You'll get around Isla Taboga primarily on walking paths. There are also a few roads for the three service vehicles on the island. (They occasionally double as taxis.) Nearly everyone here walks, but a few residents get around by golf cart.
Side note: There are no ATMS on Isla Taboga and except for Hotel Vereda, no establishments take credit cards. Be sure to bring enough cash to get you through your stay.
