Seeing the Argyll on Horseback -- There's no better way to experience the majestic beauty of the moors, Highlands, and headlands in the Argyll area than on horseback. A 1-hour ride costs £23 ($43), a 2-hour ride £38 ($71), and a 4-hour ride (with lunch) £70 ($133). In addition to maintaining around 16 horses and a working cattle-and-sheep farm between Oban and Loch Gilphead, the center has a cottage that groups of up to eight equestrians can rent for £220 to £320 ($418-$608) per week. The center is open all year, but the best times to go are from May to early June and from September to October.
