Getting There -- From the Kyle of Lochalsh, drive west along the bridge over the strait to Kyleakin.

Visitor Information -- The tourist office is at Bayfield House in Portree (tel. 01478/612-137; www.highlandfreedom.com). It's open April to June, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm; July to mid-August, Monday to Saturday 9am to 8pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm; mid-August to October, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm; and November to March, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
