Many visitors prefer to base themselves at Shanklin. At Bourne Hall, they receive a warm welcome from the owners, who have one of the area's best-equipped hotels. The hotel stands on nearly 1.2 hectares (3 acres), adjoining open farmland. Bedrooms are furnished in a delightful English country-house style. Some have been redecorated, and even those that haven't are still in fine shape. All rooms are nonsmoking. Each small bathroom is well maintained, and all contain a shower. Children younger than 16 are not permitted to stay at the hotel.
