The vast selection of posh eateries in Nisantasi is overwhelming. But what to do when all one wants is a simple, unassuming, wholesome, and flavorful (late?) lunch event? Kantin provides that experience, combining a cafe, specialty takeout, and bistro all in one. Head up to the second floor past the scent of lilies directly to the rear of the building. There, the room is divided by a fourth wall of glass, leaving you to choose an indoor table or, weather permitting, a spot under the Linden trees on the outdoor terrace. The menu changes daily and features the freshest flavors of the season. Some of the more regular items are a grilled vegetable salad, a "crispy" salmon, and to finish, a dondurmali irmik (sweet semolina topped with ice cream).
