It's easy to see why visitors choose to stay in this small family-run establishment. Bahattin and his son Umit roll out the red carpet for everyone. The rooms are charming and very homey, and some even have little cushioned window seats. The main difference between the room types is the size, but even the smallest standard double is larger than standard at the Ottoman Imperial or the Sultanahmet Palace. The rooftop terrace, even without the choice views of the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea, is spectacular, partially shaded under a timber roof and with inviting cushions to relax on. Downstairs, breakfast is served to the soothing trickle of the garden fountain against the backdrop of an ancient Byzantine wall. The building next door was recently renovated into a multiroom, apartment-style annex (these are the suites), offering the opportunity for a real "local" experience.
