Frommer's Review
The modern glass monolith that houses the Ritz-Carlton has marred the skyline above Dolmabahçe Palace for years, eliciting criticism at almost every turn. But the hotel's opulence and luxury make it forgivable. The hotel strives for a niche alongside that of the other multistarred hotels with exotic massage treatments, a premier health center, and fitness packages. Standard rooms are spacious, with large picture windows; the suites benefit from lovely parquet flooring and splendid views of the Bosphorus. Also, somewhere under all those pillows and bolsters, the beds are decadently high and plush. Bathrooms have bathtubs and separate showers, heated towel warmers, scales, handmade tiles, and designer soaps. The hamam is one of the most luxurious in town.
Facilities: 2 restaurants; 3 bars; movie theater; indoor pool; health club; spa; hamam; Jacuzzi; sauna; concierge; tour desk; car-rental desk; shopping arcade; salon; 24-hr. room service; massage; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; executive floor; elevator.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
