One of the biggest and best breakfast spreads in Istanbul—which is, thankfully, available all day—is served on quaintly mismatched floral crockery in a cozy room, with exposed brick walls and antique furnishings, that looks out towards Galata Tower. Along with the usual cheeses, olives, and seasonal salad there are ispinakli gözleme (stuffed spinach flatbreads), mini Georgian pancakes, fried halloumi, spicy pepper paste, and several types of homemade organic jams. It's the perfect spot for a lazy Sunday morning, although attempting any sightseeing afterwards may be a struggle. The café also serves good Turkish home-style cooking for other meals as well, along with a few Georgian specialties, such as the deliciously filling khachipuri (cheese bread). Beer, wine and cocktails are also on the menu, if your breakfast started late.
