La Casa Que Canta Review

"The House that Sings" is a romantic hotel that is regularly rated among the world's top boutique hotels. The striking molded-adobe architecture typifies the rustic-chic Mexican Pacific style. Individually decorated rooms named after Mexican songs have handsome natural-tile floors, unusual painted Michoacán furniture, antiques, and stretched-leather equipale-style chairs and tables with hand-loomed fabrics throughout. Each exquisite room has a large furnished terrace with bay views. Most of the spacious units are suites, and 11 of them have private pools. Rooms meander up and down the hillside, and while no staircase is terribly long, there is only one elevator. A "well-being" center offers massage, spa services, and yoga. The hotel's service is remarkably gracious, and you'll find La Casa Que Canta pretty close to heaven.

Facilities:
Restaurant (open to outside guests for dinner w/reservation only); bar; fitness center; 2 outdoor pools (1 freshwater, 1 saltwater); room service; spa

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
