Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Review

This luxurious 300-acre country club and spa is a great place to pamper yourself between rounds of golf or games of tennis. The brand-new 28,000-square-foot spa provides fabulous treatments. A new three-story building in front of the original 1937 clubhouse contains spacious, upscale guest rooms. Across the road are condominiums in two-story beachfront buildings. All have patios or balconies; some have four-poster or sleigh beds. In addition to the inn's two 18-hole golf courses, its excellent tennis center, and its fully equipped gym with six-lane Olympic pool, guests can use the three beachside pools and facilities at the nearby Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach . The Island House has 28 luxurious rooms and suites, all overlooking the famous Island 9th golf hole and blue lagoons. Note: There is a nightly gratuity charge of $15 per double room for the bellman, doorman, chambermaid, and valet-parking staff, so don't double tip.

Facilities: 3 restaurants; 3 bars; indoor pool; 2 golf courses; 15 tennis courts; health club; spa; watersports equipment/rentals; bike rental; children's programs (summer only); concierge; business center; 24-hr. room service; massage; babysitting; laundry service; coin-op washers/dryers

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
