Frommer's Review
Situated on the bank of the Applegate River 16 miles outside Jacksonville, this lodge has one of the prettiest settings in southern Oregon and is a masterpiece of woodworking, with burnished woods (including rare fiddleback redwood paneling) and unique wooden details throughout. The high-ceilinged great room with a river-rock fireplace features a wall of glass looking out on the river, and across the length of the lodge is a deck where you can sit and listen to the river. The guest rooms are all very large, and several of them have loft sleeping areas. Lots of peeled log furniture gives the inn a solidly western feel. Right next door is the Applegate River Ranch House. The river here is great for swimming.
