The hot mineral-water pools -- cooled before they are allowed to touch your skin -- can be enjoyed in an expansive swimming pool or in two soaker pools, surrounded by trees and a sublime mountain skyline with a view of Ashlar Ridge. Campgrounds and a cozy lodge with food and drink are nearby. But the hot springs are only one reason to make this enjoyable side trip: there are also the elk, deer, coyotes, and moose that populate the driving route to Miette, making it one of the best places in the park to view wildlife.
