Facing the large main park, Gan Ha-Atzma'ut, this imposing complex includes the Great Synagogue and the former Seat of the Rabbinate, designed in a rather vague imitation of what was believed to be King Solomon's Temple. Weekly programs -- religious and folk songs, lectures, and readings -- mark the end of Shabbat and the beginning of the new week. For times of traditional religious services, check at Heichal Shlomo, your hotel, or the tourist information office. The Wolfson collection of Judaica, one of the world's finest, can be seen on the fourth floor.
